IDS Update #44 – May 2020

Dear Members and Friends

It is with our great sorrow that, due to the unprecedented situation we all experience, we announce that the 1st IDS Regional Meeting that was scheduled to take place in Warsaw, Poland on 15-17 October, cannot take place as planned.

In collaboration with the local organizing committee, we concluded that this decision is necessary to avoid several kinds of risks for the Society and its members.

We deeply thank Lidia Rudnicka and all the members of the local organizing committee for their efforts to prepare the meeting that would kick-off the new project of IDS Regional meetings. We are confident that the project will come true soon and that it will be very successful.

As a replacement of the Regional Meeting, we are preparing a novel type of on-line event that will take place precisely on the same days (15-17 October). This will be an official IDS event chaired by Lidia and supported by all our Executive Board and Board members. We will announce more details very soon.

In the meanwhile, our on-line educational activities remain active and the educational material on our website is continuously enriched.

Above all, we take this opportunity to cordially wish to all of you a strong physical and mental health. Times like this are a good chance to re-consider what really values. Honesty, solidarity and willingness to share have always been the guiding values of our Society, and, in this moment, global solidarity is needed more than ever.

Additionally – as a reminder: The IDS invites you to actively participate in a survey on the impact of COVID on our daily activities and skin manifestations related to COVID. The participation is anonymous and the survey does not take longer than 5 minutes.
Please use for your answer. Thank you!

Very much looking forward to see you soon
