Dear Members and Friends
With this email, we like to give you some updates regarding the activities of our society.
The strong memories of our World Congress of Thessaloniki are still fresh and, despite of the summer vacations, our activities are ongoing and we would like to provide you a quick update on those that are coming soon.
Iris Zalaudek, as President of the International Dermoscopy Society, also likes to address some personal words of gratitude to all participants of the 5th World Congress of Dermoscopy held from 14th-16th June 2018 in Thessaloniki, Greece.
1. Our study “humans against machines (HAM10000)” is ready to start!
We are comparing the accuracy of the best computer algorithms with the best dermoscopists and need your help. We created an app that works on every smartphone and every computer. Please go to the link below and follow the instructions:
Although registration is necessary, participation is completely anonymous. After registration please diagnose the 30 lesions in level 5 at least once and try to beat the best computer algorithm. You can play as often as you want.
2. IDS Scientific meeting during the EADV Congress in Paris
As usually, we organise our 4-hours scientific meeting in the first day of the EADV Congress. The meeting will take place on Wednesday 12 September at 13.30 in the room “Amphi Bleu” of the Congress Venue (Palais des congrès de Paris). At the following link you can find the scientific program:
3. The IDS in the “Barcolana”!
The IDS promotes public prevention and screening campaigns during sportive events and we welcome proposals from our members for such activities.
This year the IDS promotes the project “Barcolana: The Sun and the Skin of Sailors“ which will take place from October 6th – 14th 2018 in Trieste during the 50° edition of the Barcolana. For more details please see the attached pdf.
4. 7th World Congress of Teledermatology
We invite and recommend you to participate in the 7th world congress of teledermatology which will be held at MD Anderson Center in Houston, Texas, USA on 17 and 18 of November.
Visit the official website of the congress at the following link: https://teledermatology2018.info
5. Other interesting topics
Have a look at our other new IDS studies! Specially the World Wide Dermoscopy Map: After the first two collections of funny images on dermoscopy – we like to start a new project for the IDS meeting in Buenos Aires (2021) and for the IDS home page. Therefor we ask you for country images on dermoscopy on which you see any country, continent, city, map etc.
Looking forward to seeing you in Paris,
With our best wishes
President of the IDS
Secretary of the IDS
